Affiliate Disclosure
I often use affiliate links on Instagram and on my website. What does that mean? It means that if I’ve used a product or service—whether I spent my own money or the company gifted it to me—and I enjoyed it—and that product or service has an affiliate program that I’ve signed up to participate in—then, when I tell you about that product or service on social media or my website, I link to it using my affiliate link. And if you decide to buy something using one of those links, I get a little rewarded from you using my affiliate link or code. Whew! That was a run on sentence if I’ve ever seen one.
The FTC requires that I disclose that there are affiliate links which would provide me with compensation for purchases made through the links provided. That said, I highly recommend the products and services that I choose to share with you, and I would never recommend something that I haven’t personally used and grown to love.
The way I see it, I tell everyone and their mom about my favorite things anyways, so if there’s an affiliate or referral program that will reward me when I do something I’m already doing, then why the heck not?!
And that is why I wrote this disclosure and gave it a whole page on my website – to ensure you can make an informed decision before clicking on an affiliate link.
